SUNDAY ADULT CLASS ON SEPTEMBER 4 (9:00 AM)

During Sunday class time in the Family Life Center, Robert Wade will be teaching on “Into and Out of Egypt: From Joseph Through the Golden Calf.” The Bible accounts explored in this lesson (Genesis 37 through Exodus 34) will provide context for small-group classes that are planned for the weeks that follow. The women’s ministry group will continue to meet in the Library.

SUNDAY ASSEMBLY SEPTEMBER 4 (10:15 A.M.)

Sunday morning, September 4th, Jameson Sarratt will be sharing about his life after dying to self and living for God. Jameson is a graduate of His Way and is currently a student of ministry at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Hope you will be able to come and hear his moving testimony.

TUESDAY A.M. WOMEN'S STUDY

Join our ladies Tuesday, September 6, 10:00 AM, to meet the author of the book we studied last semester, Human AND Holy! Michelle J. Goff is also the founder of Iron Rose Sister Ministries (IronRoseSister.com), a women's ministry resource that equips women to connect to God and one another more deeply in English, Spanish, and now Portuguese! She will be traveling on her way to their first English/Portuguese bilingual event in South Florida, but looks forward to sharing birthday cake after a lesson and a few "God stories" on September 6th as the ministry celebrates its 10th Year Tour!

COMMUNION PREPARATION NEEDS HELP

If you could prepare the communion for one of these months (October, November, or December), please sign the list in the kitchen. Contact Jim Phillips for more information.

Fall Term: September 11 through November 27

1.   “Redemption and New Creation” (Family Life Center)

During this series, small groups will be working through a video-based discussion series. Using historical accounts from both the Old Testament and New Testament, this series focuses on being bought back from things that enslave us and the new mindset that results.

2.   Women’s Ministry (Library; Coordinators: Sue Underwood and Kim Story)

This class provides Bible-based content in a LIFE Talk setting and is set up to minister to women who are the head of their household and women whose husbands are not Christians. Women of all ages and situations are welcome who wish to participate in this ministry. The class is generally organized to alternate between Old Testament and New Testament books, topics, and ideas. However, prayer and sharing are also integral parts of the class. As participants begin to apply the teaching to their own lives, they are invited to openly share burdens with one another. This is so that others who have walked that path previously can share their own experience and wisdom in how to face that situation faithfully. While two ladies provide the principal oversight for the class, a number of ladies from within the class will be encouraged to lead individual sessions, usually a week or two at a time.

WEDNESDAY ADULT CLASSES (7:00 PM)

Fall Term: September 7 through November 30 (Thanksgiving Devo on Nov 23)

1.   1 & 2 Samuel (Family Life Center and Online; Teachers: Robert Wade and others)

Every year or two, it seems like we have an election to determine new political leaders. When we vote for leaders, what do we look for? More importantly, when God chooses leaders, what does He look for? This class will tell the story of Israel during the time that its kingdom was being established for the first time. Practical application will focus on timeless principles derived from this ancient account. Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86363371603?pwd=cjM1bmFxZ0kyTU5SR1VQUlN2QlpOZz09

It has been said, “If you get Romans, God will get you!”  Join us this fall as we take an in-depth look at the first six chapters of Romans in order to grow in our understanding of the profound truths Paul relays in this text.  Each week class participants will study the assigned reading independently and join together on Wednesday evenings to discuss their insights. To allow for a more in-depth look at the text, we will only cover 1/2 chapter per week.  You can attend the class in person at the building or from home on  Zoom.  If you have questions, please contact Melinda Goad.
